Pencils, rulers and erasers were made into long sticks, like wood and metal components found in home improvement stores. They can be cut to any length and used as material for new tools.

現在、私たちのまわりには様々な文房具が溢れているが、元々は枝で地面に模様を刻むような素朴なものだったはずだ。その後素材に手が加えられ道具が作られてきたが、その道具自体をもう一度素材としてみることで、新しい物と人の関係が作れるのではないだろうか。

Today, we are surrounded by a wide range of stationery, but originally it must have been something as simple as carving patterns into the ground with a branch. Later, the materials were modified and tools were made, but if we look at the tools themselves as materials once more, we can create a new relationship between things and people.
